The SBL Center for Interventional Pain brings advanced pain-fighting techniques and expertise to the people of East Central Illinois. It is home to Anesthesiologist Ragai Mitry, MD, who has advanced training in the diagnosis and treatment of pain. He works to eliminate pain without the use of narcotics and other addictive drugs. Heather Heicher, APRN and Lynn Potter, APRN, sees patients in the office as well and provides several options for pain management that require no sedation. The Center for Interventional Pain is staffed by registered nurses who have vast experience and a special interest in helping patients manage their pain.

Diagnosing Your Pain

When you first visit the Center for Interventional Pain, we will review your medical history and perform a physical examination. We will also perform a more comprehensive evaluation to better understand the source of your pain. Our goal in treatment is to find the underlying cause of pain rather than masking it with medication.

Insurance and Referral Process

The Center for Interventional Pain only accepts people who are referred by another healthcare provider. We accept Medicare and Medicaid, and most insurance plans cover our services. We will gladly confirm this with your insurance carrier at your appointment.

What to Bring

If your primary care provider is not a Sarah Bush Lincoln provider, please bring a copy of your medical record, a list of allergies and current medications, and any X-rays or MRIs you have had taken. You are welcome to bring someone along on your first appointment to listen to what the doctor may explain, and help take notes and ask questions.
