An Acute Stroke-ready Hospital through IDPH

Sarah Bush Lincoln's Emergency Department (ED) is equipped with 27 private treatment rooms so patients can be cared for with greater comfort, while reducing the spread of infection. The ED is certified by Illinois Department of Public Health as an Emergency Department approved for Pediatrics (EDAP).

The ED is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week to all people, regardless of their ability to pay for service. Staff provide emergency care for many common injuries and illnesses, as well as caring for worsening chronic conditions, and providing immediate life-saving interventions. It is accessible by walk-in and ground ambulance, with a helipad to transfer critically ill patients to other facilities for highly specialized care.

Sarah Bush Lincoln frequently treats patients from eight counties: Coles, Cumberland, Clark, Douglas, Edgar, Effingham, Jasper, Moultrie, and Shelby, among others.

Beginning Tuesday, April 23, 2024  all visitors accompanying patients in the Sarah Bush Lincoln Emergency Department will be issued a sticker with their name to wear that should be visible at all times.
