The Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Foundation’s annual Cheers! event is offering a night of fun at a new location, all in an effort to raise funds for the SBL Volunteer Guild scholarship program.
Starting at 6 pm on Saturday, March 1, Cheers! will offer attendees a cocktail party, live music by the band 8South, a Wine and Whiskey Tasting, and a Poker Tournament at The Foxmore in Shelbyville.
General admission tickets are $85 each. The buy-in for the Hold ‘em style Poker Tournament is $100 and includes admission to Cheers! The tournament begins at 7 pm, upstairs at The Foxmore.
A grand prize of four Cardinals Baseball tickets, valued at $1,500 and donated by Roy Schmidt Honda of Effingham, will be awarded, as well as several runner-up prizes. Special bounty prizes will also be awarded for knocking out Nate Brettin, the 2023 tournament winner, and Myles Batson, the 2024 winner.
There will also be a raffle for a chance to win one of two great prizes: 14k yellow gold confetti diamond earrings, valued at $1,999, donated by Towne Square Jewelers, or a two-night stay at the Graduate Hotel, Nashville, TN.
Since 1979, the Volunteer Guild has awarded nearly $880,000 in scholarships in SBL’s 10-county service area to students who are pursuing their education in medically-related fields.
“Cheers! is a fantastic way to fund scholarships for local students who need financial assistance for their college education,” SBL Special Events Officer Kim Lockart said. “We are grateful to The Foxmore for hosting the event and are excited to offer attendees a fun-filled evening.”
