The Human Bean in Effingham recently donated $1,000 to the Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Foundation to support people receiving care at the SBL Regional Cancer Center.

Each year, The Human Bean locations across the country donate 100 percent of their proceeds from one day in October, as part of the organization’s “Coffee for a Cure” fundraiser.

Owner Nate Zimmer chose to donate the business’ net proceeds to support people receiving care at the SBL Regional Cancer Center who struggle to pay for costs associated with their care. “Many of our customers and surrounding community members receive treatment at SBL, so we wanted to give back to support them,” said Nate Zimmer.

For more information about donating to SBL, contact the SBL Health Foundation at 217-258-2511.
