February 20, 2019 10:32 a.m.

Towne Square Jewelers of Charleston donated a pair of flame motif earrings fashioned from sapphires and blue and white diamonds to be awarded to one lucky winner during Cheers!, a high-energy cocktail party and dance that raises funds to support the Sarah Bush Lincoln Volunteer Guild Scholarship Program. The public is invited to purchase tickets to the event, which is from 6 to 11 pm Saturday, March 2, at the Thelma Keller Convention Center in Effingham. Tickets are $75 each and must be purchased in advance.

As part of the night’s activities, participants will have an opportunity to purchase tickets during the “Booze & Bling” portion of the event for a chance to win the earrings valued at $1,600. Each ticket also includes your choice of one of four tastings: wines, microbrew beers, bourbons or cordials.

Organizers are excited to have the highly-acclaimed band 8South from Nashville, TN as entertainment for the first time this year. The band is known for performing a wide variety of music including Motown, Rock, Hip Hop, Country, Pop and Jazz.

The committee is also selling raffle tickets for a chance to win an “Urban Bourbon Trail Trip” as another way to support the Guild Scholarship Program. The package includes a two-night stay at the 4-star, historic Seelbach Hilton Hotel, downtown Louisville, KY; a $100 gas card; a basket of Louisville-inspired items; and several additional gifts upon arrival. The winning ticket for the trip, valued at more than $800, will be drawn during the March 2 event. You need not be present to win.
