SBL Certified Diabetes Educators Offer Free Question and Answer Session

Sarah Bush Lincoln certified diabetes educators are hosting a free question and answer session at 6:30 pm on Tuesday, November 10, in the Adams Room of the Lumpkin Family Center for Health Education. Convenient parking is available on the north side of the Health Center.

The event is open to the public and is designed to answer a broad range of questions individuals may have regarding diabetes. The panel will consist of Certified Diabetes Educators Cindy Foster, RDN, and Paula Enstrom, RN.

Diabetes is America’s fastest growing chronic disease. It comes in several forms, Type 1, Type 2, pre-diabetes and gestational diabetes. Through diabetes education, people suffering with any type of diabetes can learn the best ways to manage their disease or in the case of pre-diabetes, how to manage their lifestyle to prevent becoming diabetic.

Complications associated with diabetes can be life threatening and include heart disease, stroke, blindness, kidney disease, nerve disease and amputation.
