Food and Nutrition Services

Registered dietitians provide nutrition services at Sarah Bush Lincoln. Through individual sessions, the dietitians use a medically oriented approach to counsel people about their nutrition.

By appointment Monday through Friday. To make an appointment, contact your physicians office for referral.

The Basement Bistro
The Basement Bistro is located on the ground floor of the Health Center and welcomes patients and visitors. The daily menu is posted in The Basement Bistro. It offers several healthy choices.

Breakfast: 6:30 to 9:30 am
Lunch: 11 am to 1:30 pm
Dinner: 4:30 to 7 pm

Open for snacks & beverages 6:30 am to 7 pm

Room Service
Dial 3663 (FOOD)
from hospital phone
217 238-3663 from outside hospital
Hours: 6:30 am to 6:30 pm
Your meal will be delivered within 45 minutes.

Visitors can order guest trays from Room Service for a fee, and have them delivered while visiting a patient.

The counseling sessions assist people in making appropriate choices based on their individual nutritional needs. With a doctor's referral, people can receive individual nutritional counseling in the areas of: 

• Cardiovascular Disease
• Diabetes
• Gastrointestinal Issues
• Food Allergies
• Hypertension
• Kidney Disease
• Nutritional Management of Cancer
• Prenatal & Postnatal Nutrition
• Sports Nutrition
• Weight Loss/Gain

Some nutrition counseling services may be covered by your insurance plan or by Medicare.

Services - Assessment of Nutritional Status
A comprehensive nutritional analysis which provides information on the nutritional status of individuals.

Implementing Appropriate Nutritional Interventions  

• Individual meal plan
• Recipe modification
• Dining out and food shopping guidelines

Follow-up Care Monitoring Weight Change

  • Reinforcing behavior modification techniques
  • Reviewing food choices
