The Okaw Valley High School volleyball team recently hosted a “Pink Night” game in honor of those who have battled or are battling breast cancer. The team sold pink t-shirts and encouraged fans to wear them at the Oct. 15 game. The team raised a grand total of $573.49.

“I’m so proud of our team for working hard to raise funds to help local residents seeking care at the Sarah Bush Lincoln Regional Cancer Center,” Grace Bartimus, Coach of the Lady Timberwolves, said. “We’re so appreciative of all who supported our “Pink Night” fundraiser!”

Tasha Deters, director of the SBL Regional Cancer Center, said she is so grateful for the team’s efforts. “We have many patients who are uninsured or don’t have adequate insurance coverage. This generous donation will help provide items related to their treatment. We’re so very grateful!”

For more information about donating to the Regional Cancer Center, contact the SBL Health Foundation at 217-258-2511.
